The BML-500 is the most compact box way machine in our lineup: a 6-inch chuck, 300 mm of machining length, and a spindle reaching 6,000 rpm through a Φ56 mm bore. It exists for small precision parts that still benefit from what a box way does best: vibration damping and geometric stability, especially on hard materials and interrupted cuts where light machines struggle to hold finish.
The guideways are hand-scraped, the same craft applied to every box way machine we build, and the 30-degree bed keeps chips clearing on small-part work. High spindle speed and a rigid structure in one compact footprint is a combination small-part shops rarely get to have both of.
Parts needing a larger grip? The BML-560S steps up to an 8-inch chuck in the Φ560 swing class, and the BML-560M extends machining length to 570 mm. For the 10-inch class with Y-axis and sub-spindle options, the BML-600 family is the next step (see: Box Way vs Linear Way).
A: 300 mm, with a 6-inch chuck and a maximum machining diameter of Φ360 mm within the Φ500 mm swing.
A: When parts need an 8-inch chuck grip or more length. The BML-560S covers 320 mm and the BML-560M extends to 570 mm, both in the Φ560 swing class.
A: Damping and stability. On hard materials and interrupted cuts, the hand-scraped box way holds surface finish and geometry where lighter structures start to chatter, and the 6,000 rpm spindle keeps small-diameter cutting speeds up.
