BML-600LT

Both Ends of a Long Part, One Cycle

The BML-600LT is a long-bed box way CNC turning center with sub-spindle, built for a specific problem: long parts that need machining on both ends. Without a sub-spindle, that means re-clamping a long, heavy workpiece, with more alignment risk than almost any other part type. On the BML-600LT, the 6-inch sub-spindle takes the part from the main spindle and finishes the back end in the same cycle, up to about 1,210 mm of machining length on the 10-inch main chuck.

The box way is hand-scraped along the full extended bed. For high length-to-diameter parts, the steady rest is configured for your workpiece before the machine ships, and the main-to-sub transfer is proven on your part at our factory. C-axis and live tooling are optional.

BML-600LT or Its Siblings?

Within the box way sub-spindle family, the BML-600T covers parts to about 475 mm, the BML-600MT to about 710 mm, and the BML-600LT reaches about 1,210 mm for genuinely long work.

Long parts that also carry off-center features? The BML-600LTY adds Y-axis with live tooling standard. For long-part turning without back-end machining, the BML-600L keeps the full 1,280 mm envelope. See also our guide: Long-Bed CNC Turning Centers.

Q: What is the maximum machining length of the BML-600LT?

A: Up to 1,210 mm with the standard 10-inch main chuck (1,190 mm with the optional 12-inch). The sub-spindle carries a 6-inch chuck with a Φ56 mm bore, running up to 6,000 rpm.

Q: When should I choose the BML-600LT over the BML-600L?

A: When the long part needs machining on both ends. The LT trades about 70 mm of machining length for the sub-spindle, finishing back faces, threads, and bores in the same cycle instead of a risky second setup.

Q: Does the BML-600LT support a steady rest for slender parts?

A: Yes. For high length-to-diameter workpieces, the steady rest arrangement is configured and tested for your part before the machine ships.
